Mother’s Day

A mother’s love is more beautiful than any fresh flower but they sure emulate the beauty and love a mother holds. We thought it would be fun to find the flowers that represent motherhood and make a bouquet out of them to gift to your mom this year!

TULIPS

Tulips are a classic spring flower and they also represent motherhood! Most tulips are suitable for the occasion but the choice of color depends on the message you would like to send. Pink tulips represent affection, caring, good wishes, and love while orange and yellow tulips mean happiness, cheerfulness, and hope.

ORCHIDS

The orchid’s colorful, delicate, and shapely petals easily evoke elegance and beauty. In Chinese culture, it is said to be a symbol of many children, fertility, love, thoughtfulness, and magnificence. Specifically, pink or purple orchids signify respect, admiration, and elegance.

LISIANTHUS

The Lisianthus flower is extremely unique and is one-of-a-kind in terms of floral patterns, colors, and designs. It also happens to be a shop favorite!

The Lisianthus flower has a unique petal appearance that is similar to a rose and a Chrysanthemum but often includes faded gradient colors and patterns, giving this flower a truly incredible look.

The Lisianthus flower symbolizes gratitude, as well as lifelong bonds between relatives, friends, and romantic partners or loved ones.

Because the Lisianthus represents gratitude and a true loyal connection with loved ones, it is also an ideal flower to show appreciation for motherhood.

LILY

Because of the Greek myth of Hera and Zeus, lilies are often associated with good fortune, happiness, and motherhood. But the most common meaning is purity and fertility. The sweet and innocent beauty of the lily flower has given it the association of fresh life and rebirth.

In Greek mythology, Hera’s husband Zeus had a son named Heracles with a mortal woman. Zeus had him breastfed by Hera so that he would become immortal like his father. While the child consumed the milk, drops were splashed across the heavens to create the Milky Way. Another drop of milk fell to earth, where it gave rise to the first lily.

ANEMONE

The Anemone flower is a flowy and gorgeous flower that is a perfect representation of motherhood and all that being a mother entails.

From the Greek word “Anemone”, the flower can be translated into “the wind’s daughter”.

Oftentimes, this flowy flower is associated with waiting and anticipation of something new, namely fertility and/or giving birth and welcoming motherhood for the first time.

In addition to its rich history, the Anemone flower also has many medicinal benefits, which is why some still associate the flower with motherhood and mother nature today.

ROSE

Roses represent love in all forms, a lighter red or deep pink color denotes gratitude and appreciation. Yellow roses are believed to represent a caring nature, while white roses are associated with purity and brightness.

Together, these flowers create a stunning tribute to the love, strength, and beauty of motherhood. Whether it's a bouquet that includes all these flowers or a single stem that holds a special meaning, the gift of flowers is a timeless way to express your gratitude and love. Remember that every mother is unique, and the meaning behind each flower can be personalized to fit the relationship between you and your mother. This Mother's Day, show your appreciation for the amazing women in your life with a gift that speaks volumes. And remember, whether you're celebrating your own mother, grandmother, aunt, or any other mother figure in your life, their love and influence deserve to be celebrated every day.
